Gamers experience Aerosmith�s legendary career, from their first gig to becoming rock royalty. This game, however is still fun, just not as great as GH3 was when it came out, and i hope GH4 will be.Guitar Hero: Aerosmith puts players in the shoes of Perry (guitar), Whitford (guitar) and Hamilton (bass)as they rock out alongside frontman Tyler and drummer Kramer. Overall Review: The cost of the game itself is a bit silly, $60 is too much imho, $40 is a good cost considering it's just the GH3 engine with more songs and a slightly different way to play through career mode. They used new models that just aren't as refined. The graphics while playing as Aerosmith aren't as good. You also get to play new songs, and singles written by Perry.Ĭons: -The graphics while playing as the "other band" are just like guitar hero three, and have the same "pretty good" level of polish. The new way of going through the game is pretty neat, two songs aerosmith picked by other bands that they enjoyed and were inspired by, then two songs by aerosmith themselves. You save $20 when you get the guitar and game together. Pros: -Another fun guitar hero game with good music I recognize and am stoked to play, and good music I have yet to hear. Overall Review: All in all, it's a good buy for an Aerosmith fan. I miss the second set of smaller buttons that Rockband gives you on the neck, which comes in handy when that dreaded orange note comes hurling at you on the screen. I'd like to see more attention paid to the neck of this guitar, besides a carefully placed Gibson logo, which as a musician, only makes me chuckle to myself and is in no means a selling point. Compared to the Rockband guitar, this one feels more littletike, if you know what I mean. Mine works fine but definitely 'clicks' more loudly strumming up then down but isn't too annoying to complain about. I've read other reviews on other sites about the horrors of receiving inoperable devices or ones with too much 'clicking' sound. I've had a lot of experience with the first Rockband and have to admit, the guitar you get here is just okay. I just opened the box a few hours ago and it's been a delight thus far.Ĭons: This is actually my first Guitar Hero set. The animation and the real interviews are fun to watch. Pros: You'd really have to like Aerosmith to love this game, which is a given.
